Garden Corsage Stamp 2020

The stamp art features a photograph of a corsage containing a spray of peach roses and a pink ranunculus, accented with deep-pink heather and seeded eucalyptus. A cream-colored lace ribbon entwines the flowers. Garden Corsage is similar in design to the Contemporary Boutonniere Forever stamp, and the two form a natural pair.

The corsage was arranged by floral designer Carol Caggiano, and photographed by Renée Comet. Art director Ethel Kessler designed the stamp. The stamp features a detail from a photograph of the billowing Stars and Stripes. A traditional take on an old favorite, the new U.S. Flag stamp adds a touch of majesty and patriotic grace to First-Class Mail correspondence. The words “USA” and “FOREVER” are printed on the bottom of the design. Terrence W. McCaffrey was the art director of the project and Greg Breeding of Charlottesville, VA, designed the stamp with an existing photograph of the flag taken by Tom Grill of New York City.

With the 2024 U.S. Flag stamp, the U.S. Postal Service honors an important symbol of our nation.

The stamp, which is being issued in booklets of 20, panes of 20, and coils of 100, 3,000, and 10,000, bears a straightforwardgraphic design of the red, white, and blue. Providing a solid foundation for the flag are the word FREEDOM in a gray slab sans seriffont and, below it, FOREVER/ USA in a smaller sans serif font. The manner in which the text is positioned suggests the enduranceof freedom as a core value.
